This tox-free, natural spray is a powerful way to kill mould spores on both hard and soft surfaces. Used regularly, it can also help prevent mould from returning.

INGREDIENTS FOR 500ML

  • 1 teaspoon of clove oil

  • 1 teaspoon of tea tree oil

  • 500ml water

  • Optional: Vodka or witch hazel (to help disperse the oils evenly)

METHOD

Combine the water and essential oils in your freshly cleaned 500ml Améli Home vessel, stir gently and screw the trigger spray cap back on.

If the oils don’t disperse effectively, add vodka or witch hazel in small amounts (2–4 tablespoons) and stir until fully combined.

USE

Bathroom: Spray onto tiles and surfaces, scrub lightly, and spray again. Leave the solution to penetrate the mould for at least 30 minutes, then rinse thoroughly.
If stains persist, follow up with our powerful mould removal spray recipe.

Fabrics: Spray directly onto the fabric and leave for up to an hour to ensure mould spores are killed. Wash with laundry detergent and allow to dry in the sun if possible.

Prevention: For best results, use this spray regularly in areas prone to damp and humidity.

  • Shower & bathroom: Keep the bottle handy and mist tiles, grout, and glass 2–3 times per week after use. A light spray (no scrubbing needed) helps stop mould before it forms.

  • Around the home: Lightly mist window sills, laundry tubs, or corners where condensation builds up once a week.

  • Fabrics: Spray occasionally on items stored in humid conditions (before putting them away let them dry fully).

NOTES

Please test in an inconspicuous location before using.

We recommend wearing protective clothing, such as a mask and gloves to avoid inhalation of mould spores and to avoid spreading the mould spores into other parts of your home.

If you keep this spray bottle in your shower and use it regularly, it can prevent future mould growth.

Using essential oils is usually safe when diluted with other liquids, however always research this beforehand, especially if pets or children may come into contact with the liquid.

Please note, after prolonged exposure to vinegar and essential oils, the adhesive on your Améli Home cap liner may weaken.  If this happens, please reach out to hello@amelihome.com for a free replacement liner with no adhesive. We are currently producing cap liners that will be compatible with all liquids and they will be provided free of charge soon.
