Make your own Fabric Spray
12 September 2025

Looking for a natural way to refresh your fabrics between washes? This eco-friendly spray is simple to make at home and a healthier alternative to chemical sprays and synthetic fragrances.

INGREDIENTS FOR 500ML

  • 450ml distilled water
  • 50ml vodka, witch hazel or rubbing alcohol.
  • 10 drops of peppermint essential oil
  • 10 drops lavender essential oil
  • 5 drops of eucalyptus essential oil

METHOD

Combine the essential oils in your Améli Home vessel and then add the water and vodka to finish. Gently stir until the oils have emulsified into the liquid and add more vodka if required.

USE

Spritz lightly over your sofa, cushions, throw rugs, curtains, and any fabric that needs a gentle refresh between washes.

BENEFITS

This refreshing blend of peppermint, lavender, and eucalyptus essential oils does more than just smell good. Peppermint brings a crisp, cooling scent while helping to neutralise odours and deter pests, lavender adds a soothing aroma with gentle antibacterial benefits, and eucalyptus offers powerful germ fighting properties with a fresh, clean finish. Together, they help reduce the microbes that cause musty smells and leave your fabrics naturally refreshed between washes.

NOTE

The vodka, witch hazel or rubbing alcohol is included to disperse the oils into the water and helps the fabric to dry faster.

You can use any essential oils that you like, for a brighter blend try 12 drops of sweet orange, 8 drops of peppermint and 5 drops of tea tree oil.

Please note, after prolonged exposure to vinegar and essential oils, the adhesive on your Améli Home cap liner may weaken.  If this happens, please reach out to hello@amelihome.com for a free replacement liner with no adhesive. We are currently producing cap liners that will be compatible with all liquids.
